The Louisiana Workforce Commission is holding its annual conference on workers' compensation issues for employers, human resources professionals, insurance industry workers and others in January with initial registration ending on Dec. 31. The event takes place Jan. 24 and Jan. 25 at the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge, 7000 Bluebonnet Blvd.
The conference features employers and legal, medical and insurance experts discussing the latest changes to Louisiana's workers' compensation system.
It aims to reach a range of professionals who deal with workers' compensation, including claims processors, doctors, lawyers, self-insuring businesses, rehabilitation care providers and risk managers.
The Workforce Commission, a state agency, is hosting the event alongside the International Workers' Compensation Foundation, a non-profit group.
In addition to covering the workings of the state's system, the conference will address human resources topics such as obesity, social media and Medicare issues.
Anyone seeking more details or planning to register can visit the commission's Internet site or contact the foundation by email at iwcf@bellsouth.net or 386-677-0042.
